Welcome to my blog!

Teachable Moments capture and define us as humans. Sometimes these moments are hard and painful, and at others they are the definition of freedom. These moments are scattered throughout life, moments that feel like stepping into who you were always meant to be.

“When the timing is right, the ability to learn a particular task will be possible; it is important to keep in mind that unless the time is right, learning will not occur. –Robert Havighurst, Educator 1952

As an educator and a photographer, I am in constant pursuit of teachable moments. In the classroom this looks like a student who grasps a new concept or reaches a long sought after goal. Behind the camera lens, this looks like a family brought together, a long awaited celebration, and the fresh light of thankfulness cast all over. Teachable moments are unplanned and show the true essence of human soul and spirit –and I cannot thank you enough for sharing a small piece of these moments with me.

“A teachable moment is not something that you can plan for; rather, it is a fleeting opportunity that must be sensed and seized by the teacher.”—AboutEducation.com

I am a special education teacher and photographer who specializes in photography sessions for families with special needs. In these sessions, you’ll be offered the extra time and understanding your family needs. Be prepared for special time for the kids to meet and play with me. Feel free to contact me ahead of time with any special tips you feel would be helpful to make your child feel more comfortable during our time together.

I also do bridal and baby showers, weddings, family and child portraits (candid and staged), birthday parties, corporate events and many other special occasions. I will come to you or meet you to take pictures.
